Fireboard Probe Durability

Had this Fireboard 2 Pro for about over a year with moderate use, but recently both the ambient and food probes just suddenly failed. One during an overnight cook and the other broke when removing it from a chicken, just about half an inch from the probe. While I understand probes dont really last forever, 1 year seems short for moderate use. I'm now wondering whether to replace them with Fireboard probes or just upgrade. Does anyone have any suggestions?

1 year lifespan with moderate use is a bit short... FireBoard probes are accurate but they're kinda delicate so I don't recommend. Just upgrade to Thermoworks!

Hmmm. A year does feel short for the probes to quit on you to be honest. If you like the setup, then maybe just grab some replacements? Upgrade to something tougher to save you some headaches along the way. I heard so many good things about some brands that aren't really popular but they last longer.
 
honestly, a year seems a bit short for regular use. I've had better experiences with Thermoworks,they're more durable and dependable. That said if you enjoy the Fireboard setup it might be worth trying out some new probes to see how that works. I'd love to hear if anyone's come across a more robust aftermarket option as well
 
I agree, they're built to last! And hey, if you're looking to level up your Fireboard experience, trying out some different probes might just do the trick. You never know what little tweaks can make a big difference
